2.3 Installing the Accu-Chek Smart Pix Pocket Tools software on a PC

The Accu-Chek Smart Pix Pocket Tools software may also be

used from your PC's hard drive. Installing these files on your

PC is not required, but doing so will eliminate the need for

the USB flash drive and free up one of your USB ports.

Installation is performed by copying all the necessary pro-

gram files to a suitable location on your hard disk. To do so,

proceed as follows:

• Open a window on your PC displaying the contents of

your hard disk (your boot drive, usually C:) . You can

do this from

My Computer

or Windows Explorer.

• Then open the

Programs

folder.

•In the

Programs

folder create a new folder and give it

an appropriate name (e.g. "PocketTools").

•Copy

all

the files and folders from the USB flash drive

containing the Accu-Chek Smart Pix Pocket Tools

software into that new folder you have created.

• You may create a shortcut to the

Accu-Chek Smart Pix

Pocket Tools.exe

program for launching it conveniently

from the Start menu or from your desktop. You will

find detailed information on this under the keyword

"Shortcut" in the Windows Help system.
